Get pumped for the spook alley!
It's almost time again! We had such a blast this year. Our basement wasn't finished yet so we did it downstairs. We scared the pants off all then neighborhood kids! This year its on Saturday October 27th...I think we will move it out to the garage.....Hope to see you all there. Chrissy, Jill, you guys bringing your kiddies over? I think we will do a less scary one earlier for the little ones and then a more scary one later for the older ones! I can't wait!
I L-O-V-E Halloween...and yes this is Nick and I in the pictures!

Its about time!
Last night I noticed that Kayden has gotten his first tooth. Its one of the middle bottom teeth and it is so cute! It just barely is coming in so it's hard to see, but I will try and get a picture of it posted for everyone to see. What a cute little guy he is!

The girls new room....
Here is my next masterpiece. I had a hard time finding their quilts but I found them today at Target. I love them! Their room is so bright and pretty! Ke'alohi used to share with the baby but we put him in his room alone because he wakes her up.
Ambria is too scared to be on the top bunk, so sissy will sleep up there. There is a desk on the side of the beds and shelves down below by Ambria. Now I just have to find some curtains that match and we are good to go. One room left....Kman! And then we will get ours done when we get our bedroom set in February after taxes come back. Thank you Uncle Sam!
Check out the pics:

I love new stuff!!!
Nick and I refinanced our house this month. After the bills were paid, and we put some money away, we saved a little extra for a few upgrades to the house. We had really yucky carpet upstairs. Everytime Kayden crawled around he was black from the carpet. It was really gross. And my biggest thing in the world that I am a firm believer in is that families should always have enough chairs at the table to accomodate the whole family so everyone can eat at the same table. So, I finally got my table for all my 5 kids! There is actually 8 chairs, so in case we had one more, there is still room! We are having Thanksgiving here this year, and I am so excited to have the extra room!
Here are some pics:
Nothing new here!
It's nice to feel organized... New desk
All 8 go to the table, but we keep 6
Curtains and rug

Wish me luck.....
Well folks, tomorrow is the big day. I have an interview with our Chief Compliance Officer for the Compliance Manager position open at the Bank. Although I am a tad nervous, I feel pretty good about it. It would be more money, but also more responsability. I think I am ready, but I have decided that if I don't get it, I am perfectly fine with where I am. I love what I do, and I love who I work for. So that definitely helps.
On another note, earlier in the year I remember telling Nick that I wanted to quit and just stay home. You know, be a stay at home mom, play with my kids, and not work. In the last three days I have come to the conclusion that that will NEVER happen and I will be working (willingly) for the rest of my happy life!
:)

Not fun
So last night was not so much fun. I dropped Nick off at the airport about 3:00pm because he is in Chicago for work until Thursday night. I do not like when he goes out of town, not only is it hard because I never really realize just how much he does til he isn't there, but I truly truly miss the kid. Wow, I am lonely. :(
Ok, so to make things better last night Kayden decided that he wasn't going to sleep for more than about 30-45 min at a time. He went down at 7:00pm because he never took an afternoon nap, but was up at 8:00, 9:00, 9:30, 10:30, 11:00, 12:15, 1:10-2:45 (decided it was time to party in his crib), so I basically slept from 3:00-6:00 this morning. I think he is teething and I tried giving him motrin a couple of times but no luck. Wow, I am tired today. Nick usually is the one that wakes up with him, so now I am feeling really bad for the nights he has to do this! It isn't very often though. Kayden usually is a pretty good sleeper but my goodness, not last night.
Then, since Nick isn't here, I can't drive to work in the carpool lane. So, I left my house at 7:00am and I got to work at 8:26am. Oh how I am dreading the drive home already.
Only 80 more hours to go.......ugh

Kayden and Ambria
Ok, so Ambria is really liking having a little brother that can play with her. She runs around the house and hides and Kayden crawls around and tries to find her. It's really cute, well for the first few minutes and then Kayden gets tired and gives up. Here is a pic of her adventures last night.

Tolerance
Although I am ashamed to admit it, in my years of growing up I always had a hard time with people who were gay. It just never seemed right to me and I didn't like the thought of it. As I have grown older, and been around all different types of people, I have been introduced to many people who are gay. I must say that some of the most amazing people I have met in my life, are gay. As I got older I started to realize that there is nothing wrong with gay people, it's how they are, and how they chose to live their life. Who am I to judge them? Why should that make them any different then anyone else I know?
With that being said, I found out over the weekend that someone Nick and I know very closely is gay. Although it didn't come as a shock to me (I had an idea), it was very difficult for this individual to tell the people in their life. You see, living in Utah County, with the majority of the people being extremely mormon and having very strong feelings on gays, this individual is in a very tough situation. This person comes from a very mormon home, with mormon parents and siblings. I truley am so proud of them for coming out! I cannot imagine living my life in secret, or being ashamed of who I am inside. I only hope that others will accept them for who they truley are and not think any less of them or judge them. I wish there was something more I could do to help them feel accepted. :(
