Virginia Here We Come!

We are FINALLY going on vacation and I am counting down the days! Saturday morning (really early) we all fly to Virginia to visit Nick's parents. Yes that's right, me, Nick and all, 5 kiddos. We did this last year when Kayden was just 7 months old and it wasn't bad, but now that he is older and a wiggle worm, I'm a little worried about being on a plane for that long. We have a lay over in Chicago so that may be a good thing to get out, stretch and give the kids break.

Nick's parents live in Chesterfield Virginia. It is absolutely gorgeous there. It's very green and lush and there are trees everywhere. I could move there in a heartbeat. Then after we get settled in we are going to drive down to North Carolina and stay at the beach for a couple days to visit some of Nick's extended family. After that we will hit up King's Dominion amusement park, and finish out by spending a couple of days in Washington DC. I'm excited for DC because I have driven by it a couple of times before, but never explored it. I think it will be neat to see.

We are going to be gone all week next week, coming back on Saturday. It will be interesting to see how things hold up at work with the only Admin gone!

Lunch with the Girls

It's been a long time since me, Jen and Shayla all got together, over 3 years now. Jen was in town (she lives in Denver) so we all went to lunch at Sizzler. It's amazing how much each of us have grown up over the years. Here's a few pics from lunch.

Don't they look like sisters?

I can't believe how long it's been since we all got together, I really need to be better about that and try do get out more often. Man, I really am starting to feel old.

Work Work Work, and then...

Ya, I know I suck at blogging lately. It used to be that I had a few times throughout my work day where I had some down time. That is not the case anymore. I am up to my eyeballs in work and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel, at least for the next few months.

Nick stayed home with Kayden Monday and Tuesday because his asthma was acting up with the yucky air outside and he needed treatments throughout the day. Monday Nick made me homemade chicken cor don blue (sp), potatos and corn on the cob. It was fabulous. Then last night he made me tilapia smothered in this yummy horse radish, mayonaise, lemon sauce stuff, with string beans and rice. Man I am thankful he can cook!

Ok, so if that wasn't enough, then he made me a hot bath with calgon purple powder stuff that turned the water this crazy purple color and made the water smell good and feel so soft. I soaked in the bath, while he put Kayden to sleep. Then I sat in a chair and put my feet in a massager tub thingy with hot water and jets and foot scrub. Then he masaged my feet. Then I got a facial. Next he heated up a bunch of towels in the crock pot, gave me a crazy massage and wrapped my feet in warm towels and put them down my back. Don't worry, I taught him how to do the whole facial and hot towel thing. One day I got it done at the spa and I was so excited and relaxed that I came home and did it to him. He loved it! By the time he was done I couldn't keep my eyes open! I slept like a baby.

Ya, I know we are corky like that but hey what can I say, we have fun no matter what we do. So it's been a long week, but he has really gone completely out of his way to pamper me. I am so super spoiled, and I am also so super thankful. Where did I find this guy, seriously?

Plans for the day....

It's Friday, Nick and I took the day off! Nick woke up with both kids and took Ambria to her doctors appointment at 9:30 to get her kindergarten boosters, and I slept in. She has to have 5 shots. I hate to say it but I am kinda glad I am not there! I hate shots, even when I am not the one getting them. Poor girl.

We are going to go drop off immunization records to the school, and check out Ambria's after school daycare we found but haven't been to yet. Then go to lunch with the kids, and then we are dropping off both kiddos for the night. Ambria is going to her dads and Kman is staying the night with Chrissy. THANKS CHRISSY!

Tonight we are going dancing for the first time since Nick's Birthday. Then we are staying in Salt Lake overnight. I'm excited to have a night out. It doesn't happen very often anymore with 5 kids, so I look forward to the times we go. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Watch for pics to come...Chrissy, we may even make it on the internet yet again! haha

Play along!

How fun is this?!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

No Kids

Wow, what a quiet weekend it has been. The kids all went back to their other parents and it's just Nick, myself and little Kman. I tell you having 5 kids for weeks at a time and all of a sudden being down to 1 is quite the change. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!

A Bad Case of the Summer Stomach Flu

Warning, do not eat while reading this post...it's a pretty gross one....

Yesterday while Nick and I were cleaning the house I began to get pretty nauseous. The night before Kayden had thrown up when he was in his bed about to go to sleep, but babies occasionally do that sometimes, so I didn't think anything of it. Then it dawned on me that maybe he wasn't feeling so hot, of course now because I was sick myself. Even though I didn't feel well I continued to clean, made dinner, and about bed time it hit really hard. BLAH!

I couldn't sleep more then about 20 minutes at a time and then about 3:45am I heard Ambria and Ke'alohi's door open, followed by a few steps down the hall to the bathroom, and then BLAH! Ke'alohi didn't make it all the way to the bathroom before getting sick. Next up, Nick. Nick's tummy started to feel queezy earlier in the night too, and as he was cleaning up Ke'alohi's mess..BLAH!

So, needless to say Nick and I are home today with the kids and we still aren't feeling super hot, however, the boys and Ambria are fine and bouncing off the walls as usual. Hopefully it's that 24 hour bug and it goes away soon. There is nothing I hate more, then the feeling of having to throw up. NOT FUN AT ALL.

A Little Kiddy Humor...

This one is for everyone who ...
a) has kids
b) had kids,
c) was a kid
d) knows a kid
e) is going to have kids

I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said, ''Mommy, look at this," and stuck out two of her fingers.

Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said, "Mommy's gonna eat your fingers,"' pretending to eat them!

I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face. I said, "What's wrong, honey?" She replied,

"What happened to my booger"?
