Minnetonka
Although it's flat here, and there are no mountains, I must say it is very pretty and green. Our offices are located in Minnetonka, which is just outside of Minneapolis. The weather here today is about 70 degrees and the sky is crystal blue and clear. I'm in the CEO of Optum Financial's office today and he has an amazing view. I had to take some pictures:

BOO HOO
I flew to Minneapolis today with my work and am here until Thursday. I came out to see our office here and to meet the people I work with daily but have never had the chance to see in person.
I must say that I think I am a major wuss. It is really weird being away from Nicholas, and from Kayden. This will be one of the only times I have been away from Nick in the almost 4 years we have been together now, and the first time I have spent more than one night away from my baby. It's fun to travel sometimes just to see other cities and different parts of the world, but man I miss Nick when I am not with him.
I really do have a great life and I am so thankful that I have him in it. He is such a wonderful husband, and father, and I am so blessed that he is mine. Sorry for the sap, just a little home sick and missing my boys. :(
I love you baby!

At least I know I act my age...
You Act Like You Are 25 Years Old |
![]() You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up. The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them. |

This is not fun..
Last night we had a crazy wind storm with gusts up to 60 MPH. I had Nick go out and get the two hanging flower pots from the front porch before the storm started, but I didn't even think to bring anything else in from the back.
About 1:30am I woke up because the wind was so loud. The first thing I thought of when I heard it was..."OH CRAP, OUR NEW TABLE SET!" The table we just bought is very light and has tiles that insert into it on the top of it. The tiles aren't glued in or anything, they just are placed in and could easily come out. I knew for sure at least the chairs would blow away if we didnt bring them in. So, I woke Nick up and sent him outside to go look what damage the wind had done and have him bring stuff in. After a while when he didn't come back I headed downstairs.
At this point he had brought in all of the chairs and the table, accept all of the tiles from the table were missing. When he went outside, the wind had completely blown over everything and every single one of the tiles has been shattered when they hit the ground. Then, we noticed that a couple of the chairs (which are made of woven material) have holes in them where the table had fallen on them. So, pretty much the whole set is ruined. :( I am so sad. We were so excited to have a nice set and now it's garbage, and it was not cheap...at all.
I think I remember seeing on the box that it had a warranty but I didn't think to save the receipt. I am going to have Nick call Home Depot and see what we can do about replacing the set. I'm not sure they will do much of anything but I guess all I can do at this point is hope.
Oh, and as if the table wasn't bad enough, I found out even more bad news. The guy that put our deck together flaked out on us and says he doesn't have time to put up the railing. So now we have to find someone to finish the job. He says he may be able to get to in in about a month or so if we want to wait. I just feel like this whole project kinda is going to crap. Nothing really has gone right from the beginning and I am ready to throw in the towel and call it quits. :(

An Eventful Weekend
What a gorgeous weekend! The weather was perfect! We spent a lot of time outside. Friday we just hung out, I went grocery shopping like I normally do on the weekends we have all the kids. Saturday Ke'alohi and I went on a shopping adventure! We got a new patio set and a bunch of new karaoke cd's, oh and a new microphone. Then at 3:30 Chrissy, Ryan and kids came over to bbq. It was a little windy but really warm. We got out the pool for the kids and hung out back.
Later on Lorina and Josh showed up with their cute kids. This was the first time Lorina and I have met. We have only talked over blogspot so that was pretty fun! She has such a cute family. Then Bao, our chinese neighbor, came over and we all ate and hung out. Later after Bao and Lorina left, we went inside when the wind started to get to cold and we busted out the karaoke machine and glow sticks! All in all it was a fun and eventful day.
Oh, deck update.....the deck base is in, now it's just time for the railing! Here are some picsCan you see the 3" drop off the left side? I was worried that Kayden might fall off, so we decided to spend the extra $ and do the railing. So the best part about that is, instead of it being Kayden that fell, Ke'alohi (our 10 year old) was the first one to go off the edge! Don't worry, she's ok..and this is a usual thing for both her and Ambria!
I am really excited to see the finished product! Hopefully we can get it done this week.
Then Sunday we bought a ton of flowers and some bushes and planted all day. I spent the whole day out in the sun and by the time 5:00pm hit I was burnt, tired, and starving. So I made dinner and we ate outside with the kids on our new table. I have to finish the back yard this week, but at least I got a good start on things.
I love the hanging flowers!
Front Yard
Tree out back...
See they are still in cartons, not finished...come on, cut me some slack!
