Christmas at the Stocks

The kids had a really good Christmas this year. Here are just a few things that the kids got (there was way to much to list them all) Ke'alohi got a body pillow, an electronic ATM, a Style and Streaker, tattoo kit, scrapbook with mini digital camera. Ambria got a princess scooter, Aurora castle and polly pocket set, Dress up dresses and 8 pairs of disney shoes. The boys got little helicopters that fly indoors, leggos, games, xbox 360 Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribean games. Kayden got a ride on Zebra, a musical table, a game that spits out balls that he loves to death. Nick got 3 pairs of jeans, 8 shirts, 2 colognes, brown Steve Madden dress shoes, new K-swiss, a furry coat, Madden 2008 for xbox 360. I got a lot of clothes, jewlery and a furry coat! YES I love it! Oh and we got the kids 2g MP3 players and a motorized razor scooter that holds up to 220 lbs so you know I will be riding it for sure.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Rays where the kids got more gifts, and Nick and I got some luggage. All in all I must say it was a fun Christmas and the kids really got some nice stuff and some fun games to play. That is what we have done the past few nights. We played Ke'alohi's dance dance revolution game for xbox 360. What a workout!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I cannot wait to get out and go away for a night with Nick for New Years. I got my shoes yesterday to go with my dress so I am pumped!

Except mine is black and doesn't have straps, and its short but not like show my butt to the world short..so I am excited! Nick will of course match wearing jeans and a black dress shirt! We have so much fun going out together. We haven't been anywhere since July for my BDAY so we are long overdue! I just have to get my shoes......hmmmm

Bring him home Santa....

On the way to work this morning Nick and I were listening to one of the radio channels that plays Christmas Songs. There was a new song playing that we had never heard before, and as we listened we seriously were both brought to tears. I have a brother in law who is currently serving in Iraq with the Utah National Guard and it really hit home to me. I thought I would share. You can listen to the song by going to http://www.bringhimhomesanta.com/

God Bless our troops this Holiday Season.

Still sick....

Kayden went back into the doctor yesterday after spending the second part of the weekend with fevers again. He seemed like he was in pain more than anything, like the strep possibly hadn't gone away completely.

The doctor told us he now has an ear infection that can go hand in hand with the strep, which was gone. The Amocycillin he was on must not have taken care of it all, so now he is on 10 days of augmentin. Wow, poor little dude.

Nick stayed with him yesterday and I am home today and he seems to be feeling quite a bit better so lets keep our fingers crossed this time that it goes away for good. I hope at least by Christmas or he may be getting motrin in his stocking!

Ok, so I'm not the brightest crayon in the box...

Funny Story. The President of the Bank I work for decided he was in the the Holiday spirit the other day and decided to create a "Holiday Spirit Contest". You are supposed to decorate your row the best, most creative, most festive, whatever. Each row competes against the other rows. So, of course since I am the festive one in my row (which consists of me and the other Executive Assistant) I decide to decorate.

Ok...I have to take a step back here for just a second and explain something or you won't understand the humor behind this. The other day we put up a Christmas Tree at work. The facilities team here are really funny about "christmas decorations" being a fire hazard (so no lights) or being offensive to other religions. When we looked in the box of decorations we had been given they were all red white and blue, with flags, the whole nine yards. I said out loud "ok what are we celebrating here, AMERICA or freakin Christmas". Well this guy named Andy that I work with pops off with "um, that tree is offensive to me because I am jewish" which he really isn't he was just being funny. We laughed and finished decorating the tree.

Ok, so I'm at Walmart buying decorations for my row and I think the blue and sliver stuff is by far the prettiest, I mean it stands out and it will be different than any other row, right? So I gather up a few things, a cute little teddy bear that is dressed in Blue and Silver, some tinsel, some bulbs, and some cute little blue and silver stars and head on my merry way. YES! WE are going to win for sure!

Well after I get it all up and decorated, I am super happy with the way it turned out. People are walking by and looking and complimenting on how cute it is, but they all stop and stare for a minute and look really puzzled before they walk away. So finally like an hour later someone finally says (what they all wanted to say but didn't) "Um, Erika, what's with the Haunaka stuff?" and I am like "what do you mean?" and they proceed to say "Blue, White and Silver are the colors of Haunaka and you have the star of David all over!!!." I'm like "whats the star of David, WHERE?..you guys those are just cute little...."--- look at the package you moron....HAUNAKA STARS!!!!

"Oh, um ya, didn't you guys know??...ANDY IS JEWISH!"

Christmas Shopping

We are almost done shopping. Everyone is done except Nick hasn't shopped for me and I haven't shopped for him. I'm nervous that Christmas is so close and I haven't gotten him one thing yet....yikes! I hope we can finish this weekend and relax til the big day. I can't believe how fast it has come this year. On the radio this morning the news said the average Utah family spends $550 total on Christmas. Wow, I only wish! I guess I should feel blessed that we are able to go all out. I will admit 5 kids has not been friendly on the wallet, but you know, it really is worth it to me. I would so much rather give than recieve on Christmas. I think it's funner that way. Well, nevertheless, MERRY FREAKIN CHRISTMAS CHARLIE BROWN!

I knew it!

After days of feeling yucky and both Nick and I staying home with the baby in hopes he will feel better we finally gave in. Nick took Ambria and Kman with him to the doctor. Nick still hasn't felt good with a sore throat so he got himself a strep test. When his came back POSITIVE then hen he got one for Ambria, negative...Kayde-POSITIVE. No wonder little Kayden hasn't been himself. I didn't think little babies got strep. Wow. Well, I knew Nick had it, I told him he did..and I was right..yet again. Thank you very much. :) Lets hope they can get feeling better now that we know what is wrong.

That time of year

Well, it's that time of year again. Nick is sick, I am sick, Kayden is sick and so is Ambria. I have a massive head cold and congestion, Nick has a sore throat and I think Ambria and Kayden have more of what I have but I'm not sure. I feel the worst for Nick. He always wants to take care of everybody else, and sometimes I wish he would just stop and let me take care of him. Last night when we got home he gave me nyquil right away, ran me a bath and made me go to bed at 7:30. He stayed up with the kids...and man, I tell ya, I felt really bad. Not sick bad, but bad it wasn't him sleeping and me awake. Tonight I think I'm not taking no for an answer and I am putting him to bed and being the care taker for one night. Geez. That kid never stops I tell ya.
